Logos Logistics: East Precinct, Intermodal Logistics Park Moorebank NSW
About
The East Precinct Intermodal Logistics Park located in Moorebank, NSW is set to be the largest Intermodal freight precinct in Australia, spanning across 243 hectares stretching across both the East and West precincts.
Centech Group performed work on behalf of Ultegra to install the communications component of the sites infrastructure across Warehouse 3, 4 and 5, spanning multiple timelines.
Scope
Warehouse 3,4 & 5 precinct Logos network.
Centech Group were engaged via Ultegra, to perform the communications component of the sites infrastructure.
Working within specified timelines per stage, and to the Logos Logistics designed layout, Centech Group delivered multiple stages of this project within the allocated timeline and budget during all stages work.
The stages were broken down accordingly per warehouse, 3 & 4 and then Warehouse 5, with all stages spanning across 12 -18 months.
Centech Group and the team, were able to deliver a well-documented, thoroughly tested and clearly labelled solution, to deliver reliability and create ease of use for years to come.
Work scope consisted of:
Fibre optic termination and testing
Copper Cat 6 network cabling
Outdoor communications cabinets and network equipment
Wireless access points including custom designed mounting system
Locata antenna system installation
Installation of Locata antennas onto 23m poles
Outdoor coms cabinets and network equipment
4 main coms rack hubs,
10 local wall mounted coms cabinets,
OS2 fibre optic and Cat6a copper networks.
Centech also supplied and installed the CCTV, Wireless access point and network hardware solutions
The second stage of the East Precinct relied on the installation of the Locata antenna system, the backbone for the guidance of the autonomous vehicles, these vehicles transport the shipping containers throughout the site.
This area of coverage now includes a footprint of 600 x1,000m area with 12 proposed warehouses and an Intermodal rail terminal.
This stage of the East Precinct project consisted of:
14 x 23m high concrete constructed poles
An array of either 3 or 6 antennas connected atop of the poles
Communications cabinets at the base of the poles, both Locata cabinets and Logos main network cabinets
Termination of the network infrastructure of OS2 fibre network
Installation of network devices
Testing and completion of ITPs

Approach & Outcome
